Tamilnadu Government- New Policy on Renewable Energy

It is well known to everyone that the whole World is running behind advanced technologies and artificial resources. Nowadays, electricity is generating by artificial resources (i.e., nuclear energy, biomass etc.,) instead of using natural resources. One of the best natural renewable resources is solar energy. Solar energy is nothing but absorbing sunlight through solar panels and converting that into electricity.

Let’s take a look at the Tamilnadu Government’s announcement regarding the clean energy system.

On 6th September 2021, Tamilnadu Generation and Distribution Corporation Limited (TANGEDCO) signed an MOU with Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA), a government of India enterprise.

It was done to fulfil the state’s energy needs by converting renewable energy instead of the amount spent on purchasing the power. In the next 10 years, TANGEDCO planned to escalate renewable energy sources to 25000MW, which includes:

  • 20000MW Solar Energy
  • 3000MW Hydropower
  • 2000MW Electricity by gas turbines

The IREDA will provide advisory services regarding market assessment, project development, bid process and so forth to TANGEDCO.

In the upcoming days, the usage of solar systems will be more than now. By this, we will be able to conserve natural resources and use them in future. Also, the job opportunities will also increase.

Let’s think and implement a Greener future!!
